Michael E. Starzak  is a retired professor of biophysical chemistry in the areas of electrochemistry of membrane channels and laser spectroscopy. He has patents in  renewable energy and biomedical instrumentation,   His two e-books (Totally immersed)  describe the unusual, often humorous, adjustments during  sabbatical years in Nice France (1983-84) and Wroclaw, Poland (1991-2) as a Fulbright Fellow.  During forty years of teaching, he developed approaches that complemented those in standard text to illustrate some of the more complex concepts. His book Enzymes and Membrane Channels shows how to develop the equations for enzyme reactions and ion transport using  graph theory.
